Extension Learning

Our Deputy Principal, Mrs Sherryl Prangley, is responsible for our Extension Learning (also known as Gifted and Talented or GATE) programme. Our Concept Learning, SOLO and differentiated grouping enables teachers to cater for and extend children who need it. Other ways we cater for these students is through withdrawal groups in areas such as Visual Art, English and eLearning.

Some of the activities this year have been;

Writing - Murray Gadd workshop

Spelling - Extension group then 2 teams to the Albany Junior High 'Spell It Out' competition

Visual Art - Mural painting for our grounds

                  Mosiac sculpture for our grounds

Music - Instrumental band and singers- performed at Northern Bays Cluster Arts Festival

Dance - Extension dance group - performed in the production

Kapa Haka- performing at Onepoto Festival

e-Learning - Coding club

Leadership - House Captains and Vice Captains (attended the National Young Leaders Day)

Sport - Netball, miniball, hockey, rippa rugby, swimming, golf, cross country, athletics
